About me
I was born in 1973 in Rome and received there my degree in Computer Science in May 1998 from the University of Rome "La Sapienza", Department of Computer Science, with a thesis on genetic algorithms and classifier systems applied to the game Reversi, advisor Pierluigi Crescenzi. In June 1997 I took part at IRST in Trento to the Summer School on Analogies and Metaphors held by Douglas Hofstadter. Since December 1997 I've been working in Vienna as system architect, in the field of mobile telecommunications and then of prediction systems based on genetic learning. In January 2000 I started my PhD study at the Technical University of Vienna in the Knowledge Based Systems Group, working on a project for the application of nonmonotonic logic methods to knowledge-based agents for intelligent information access.
Research interests
Currently my main interest is of course in the project I'm working on, about methods for advanced information access by (systems of) software agents. You can find more about it in the Home Page of the project itself.
Other interests include machine learning and games, complexity theory and approximation algorithms, formal semantics and cognitive science.
I am member of the Austrian Society of Cognitive Science (Oesterreichische Gesellschaft fuer Kognitionswissenschaft) and of the Austrian Society for Artificial Intelligence (Oesterreichische Gesellschaft fuer AI).
