Conference Location

SUM 2008 will be held in Centro Congressi Federico II (Via Partenope 36, Napoli). Via Partenope, on the most suggestive stretch of Naples coastal road, is located between Borgo Marinari and Via Santa Lucia, Castel dell'Ovo and Piazza del Plebiscito, in a very beautiful central area, which in the daytime is very well served by trams and buses.

How to reach Naples

Naples is located about 240 km south of Rome.

By plane: Naples' international airport has connections with all domestic destinations and the most important european airports. Bus lines 3S and 14 connect the airport to the main train station, Napoli Centrale, every 20 min. A faster non-stop bus connects every 30 minutes the airport to the train station and the harbor.

By train: Naples can be reached by train from Rome in about 1 hour and half. All the trains stop in the main station Napoli Centrale (or Napoli Piazza Garibaldi, in the same location, but underground).

By car: from north take motorway A1 to Naples, take Tangenziale heading to Pozzuoli, take the exit Fuorigrotta. Follow the signs for NAPOLI CENTRO. After crossing the namesake gallery, you reach Mergellina. Going along Caracciolo promenade, you reach Via Partenope.

City transportations: Metro, buses, and all other public transportations can be taken with the same ticket Unico for a maximum of 90 minutes; the cost is 1 €.
